United Arab Emirates Dirham

The United Arab Emirates includes the city of Dubai and capital city of Abu Dhabi.

The UAE uses the dirham as its currency. The dirham has a sub-division called the fil with 100 fils per dirham.

Currency regime

The UAE dirham is fixed against the US dollar at a rate of 3.67.

Commercial rates

As at October 8th 2007, the dirham was trading at 3.67 against the US dollar and around 5.19 against the Euro.

Tourist rates

On October 8th 2007 the dirham was trading at around 7.07 against Sterling.  For 1 UK pound you will, therefore, receive around 7.07 dirham .
