Norwegian krone (crown)

The official currency for Norway is the Norwegian Krone (NOK) which is divided into 100 øre.

Currency regime

Norway is not part of the European Union and the currency is not part of European Monetary Union.

The currency floats freely against the major currencies with the central bank adopting inflation targeting.

Commercial rates

On February 3 2006,  the krone was valued at around 6.65 against the dollar 8.02 against the Euro and 11.81 against Sterling.
