The official currency for Nigeria is the naira. 1 naira is divided into 100 kobo
Currency regime
The naira is officially controlled in a very tight band against the US currency, but there is a widespread black market
Commercial rates
On June 2nd 2006 the naira was valued at around 128.5 against the dollar, 165.7 against the Euro and 242.1 against Sterling.
