Mexican peso

The official currency for Mexico is the Mexican peso which is divided into 100 centavos.

Currency regime

Mexico is part of the North American Free Trade Agreement and there are growing links between the US and Mexican economies, but there is no official currency link with the US currency.

The currency floats freely against the major currencies with the central bank targeting the inflation rate and not the currency.
