Bolivian boliviano

Bolivia officially uses the boliviano as the local currency. The boliviano is divided into100 centavos.

Currency regime

The boliviano is closely managed against the dollar and is close to a crawling peg against the dollar as the local currency depreciates at a slow and usually consistent pace. The pace of depreciation has slowed sharply over the past two years with the currency closed to being fixed.

Commercial rates

On March 8th 2006, the boliviano was trading at around 8.0 against the US dollar, 9.53 against the Euro and 13.9 against Sterling

Tourist rates
